NEW ENGLAND AREA "Exchange"

 

 

IT'S LUAU TIME !

  On October 5-6, NH hosted the “Hawaiian” theme New England Exchange at Camp Spaulding in Penacook , NH – and boy, did we have an awesome time! 5 girls from Connecticut, 6 girls from Maine, 17 girls from Vermont, and 26 girls from New Hampshire got dressed in there best Hawaiian outfits and arrived for a fantabulous time! First, we enjoyed the 13 activities set up by Mom Higgins and Mom Morrison, where Nicole Eaton (VT), Kristen Lewis (NH), Kristen Scott (ME), Allison Grant (ME), Tara Butts (NH), and Christine Simonds (VT) got all the activities done first and won the prize of getting dinner first. I bet those hot, right-out-of-the-oven baked potatoes tasted good! After the activities, it was on to the scavenger hunt where all the girls had to search for 86 different items. I even had to take out the bobby pins in my hair for this one!  In the end, Jennifer Bean, Meghan Caldwell, Regina Schofield, Gail Whitney, Hollie Morrisette, Sarah Corey (CT), and Autumn Wells (VT) won free registration at NH Grand Assembly for turning in a high of 74 items! 

          

After a hot dinner, we prepared for the State Talent Show, but nothing could prepare us for the hilarity that ensued!  After all acts were done, Heather Jacobs, Robyn Marshall, and I decided who would get the candy. 1st place for comedic sketch was Nashua #9 for their Ply-Mouth State swim team routine. 1st place for spirit was Crystal Assembly and Brattleboro Assembly (VT) with their cheerleader tryout routine – with real cheerleaders!! And 1st place for dance was Poultney Assembly (VT) for their kickin’ dance routine.

 

Then it was time for S’mores and a huge bonfire before bed! But we were all up for an 8 am breakfast before everyone made the long drive home. All in all, a successful weekend with many friends and family! So thank you adults and advisors for bringing your girls, as well as the adults and advisors from NH who helped to plan this event, and thank you, girls, for bringing your enthusiasm and smiling faces to yet another fantastic event
